The Center’s activities focus on conducting research on the current dynamics of strengthening transport connectivity in Central Asia, studying opportunities and problem areas in expanding the region’s transit potential, as well as its integration into global supply chains, and analyzing the national strategies and approaches of Central Asian states to this issue.
Of particular scientific interest is the creation and promotion of new, reliable, and efficient economic corridors along the East-West and North-South axes through Central Asia to access promising global trade markets. An assessment is being carried out of the prospects for the development of such strategic projects as the Trans-Afghan railway corridor to Pakistan, the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, the Southern (Trans-Iranian) Railway Corridor to Europe and the Persian Gulf countries, the North-South International Transport Route, and other adjacent international freight and energy routes. The geopolitical and geo-economic aspects of the formation of the modern transport and logistics architecture of Central Asia are being studied, as well as the participation of global and regional powers in this process.
