The Institute for Advanced International Studies (IAIS) at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, with the support of The Nippon Foundation, is implementing a comprehensive research and exchange initiative in 2025–2026 titled “Energy Security and Strategic Partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan”.
This project responds to the growing strategic relevance of energy security in Central Asia, particularly as Uzbekistan seeks to diversify its energy partnerships and adapt to global sustainability agendas. It also reflects Japan’s role as a key development partner in science, technology, and green energy diplomacy in the region. The project aims to build a knowledge base and policy-oriented dialogue to strengthen mutual understanding between Uzbekistan and Japan on long-term energy resilience and regional cooperation frameworks.
