Biography

Dr. Gavkhar Sultanova is the Head of the Centre for Economic Diplomacy at the Institute for Advanced International Studies and an associate professor at the Department of International Economics at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from Tashkent State University of Economics. In 2008, she received a PhD in economics, and in 2025, she received a DSc in economics. Since 2004, she has been teaching at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, where she lectures on international economics and macroeconomics. In addition, Dr. Sultanova has worked as a national consultant on UNDP projects and as a researcher on European Union and WTO projects.

 

Dr. Sultanova has completed professional development courses at the Institute of International Trade (Switzerland, 2024), MGIMO (Russia, 2019), the University of Malaga (Spain, 2007), the Institute for Political Science (Germany, 2006), and participated in the Study of the U.S. Institute for Scholars programme (USA, 2022).

 

Dr. Gavkhar Sultanova has a keen interest in research in the fields of international economics, foreign economic activity, sustainable development, economic competitiveness, and digitalization. She is the author of three monographs and more than 40 scientific articles published in renowned local and international publications.
