The Institute for Advanced International Studies (IAIS) at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, in partnership with Alpha Education, one of the leading educational platforms in Uzbekistan and the CIS, has successfully inaugurated a training program on communication skills and strategic outreach.

The program is implemented within the framework of the institutional modernization plan “Building Institutional Capacity for Sustainable Futures: A Pathway to Competitiveness in Central Asia and Beyond,” supported by a PRIM grant under the World Bank–backed project “Modernizing Uzbekistan’s National Innovation System (MUNIS).”

The first day of the training was led by Regina Lebedeva, a certified Alpha trainer with over 15 years of experience in sales and management in international companies. Conducted in the format of a strategic session, the workshop was designed to build a shared understanding of the key priorities of institutional development.

During the session, participants discussed the results of a pre-prepared SWOT analysis, identified target audiences and stakeholders, and engaged in group exercises to draft initial proposals for the Institute’s vision and mission. These discussions helped outline preliminary strategic directions and initiatives that will be further elaborated in subsequent stages of the program.

The outcomes of the first day demonstrated that a practice-oriented format fosters a unified institutional approach and strengthens internal team dynamics. These results will provide a solid foundation for the upcoming modules, which will focus on developing a unique value proposition and a comprehensive communication strategy.
