Aziza Mukhamedova took part in an international academic conference organized by Northwest A&F University, one of China’s key national comprehensive universities under the administration of the Ministry of Education of the PRC. The conference brought together experts and researchers from Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan, and China, and focused on regional integration, sustainable development, transport and energy connectivity, and the environmental agenda across the Eurasian space.
In her presentation, Ms Mukhamedova emphasized the transformation of regional integration in Central Asia and the growing importance of connectivity as a key driver of sustainable development. Her paper addressed issues related to infrastructure corridors, environmental challenges, and the institutional readiness of regional states to manage complex cross-border processes, including engagement with Afghanistan and South Asian countries.
Special attention was given to the idea that the development of infrastructure and “green” initiatives in the region requires not only investment, but also long-term coordination, trust-building, and the establishment of sustainable institutional mechanisms for regional cooperation.
