On November 25, an online round table discussion entitled “Artificial Intelligence and International Relations: Global Trends, Regional Opportunities, and Academic Cooperation” and organized by the Institute for Advanced International Studies at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the National Research University Higher School of Economics (Russia) will be held. The event is intended to serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue between researchers and practitioners on how rapid technological development is changing the architecture of global and regional politics and opening up new opportunities for cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan.
The discussion will focus on the role of artificial intelligence in national development. Roundtable participants will consider how AI-based technologies contribute to economic modernization, improve the efficiency of public administration, develop the education system, and transform the social sphere. Particular attention will be paid to the experience of Russia and Uzbekistan in forming national strategies in the field of artificial intelligence, creating a legislative and institutional framework, as well as practical steps to implement digital solutions at the level of government agencies, businesses, and universities.
A separate section of the discussion will be devoted to the socio-economic effects of digitalization. The plan is to consider what new professions and competencies are emerging under the influence of artificial intelligence, how the labor market is changing, and what risks and opportunities automation and algorithmization of routine processes entail. Participants will discuss issues of accessibility to modern technologies, digital inequality, and what measures states and universities can take to train personnel capable of working successfully in the digital economy.
Another important topic will be the development of international and academic cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and international relations. The round table is intended to strengthen dialogue between research and educational centers in Russia and Uzbekistan and to identify promising areas for joint projects, educational programs, and expert exchanges. The organizers hope that the discussion will allow participants not only to exchange best practices, but also to form common approaches to responding to the challenges that digital transformation poses to states, societies, and the academic community.
The roundtable will begin at 12:00 p.m. (Tashkent time) / 10:00 a.m. (Moscow time)
