From September 17 to 22, 2026, Leading Research Fellows of IAIS at UWED – Aziza Mukhammedova and Yulduzkhon Imomova – participated in the Eurasian Seminar for Young Scholars titled “Digitalization, Greening, Joint Transformation, and High-Quality Development,” organized by the Institute for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, in Beijing.
The program brought together young researchers and experts from countries across Eurasia. Discussions focused on issues of digital and “green” transformation, sustainable development, the implementation of innovative technologies, and the prospects for expanding international scientific cooperation. As part of the trip, participants visited several science, technology, and innovation hubs and learned about Chinese developments in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and environmentally sustainable energy.
Particular attention was paid to pilot projects in Chinese provinces. Participants were introduced to the experience of developing an experimental eco-settlement that utilizes solutions in the fields of “green” energy, digital management, and environmentally oriented production. The project is viewed as a model for sustainable regional development that could be scaled up in other regions of China in the future. Participation in the seminar facilitated the exchange of expertise, expanded professional networks, and strengthened scientific dialogue among research centers in Eurasian countries.
